Language and Learning Foundation (LLF) is an education nonprofit dedicated to improving foundational learning of students in primary grades at scale, in collaboration with the national and state governments in India. The early learning crisis in Indian primary schools is severe and 55% of children in the age group 6 to 10 years are ‘learning poor’. LLF has impacted 1.4M children directly, by improving their learning outcomes, and 250K+ teachers have been empowered across 10 states in India since 2015.
One of LLF’s top priorities going into this project was cultivating a dynamic and inclusive workplace that attracts, develops, and retains top talent.
LLF partnered with Diana Lee, a global senior Human Resources executive and CHRO with experience in multiple industries, including media and entertainment, education, and financial services. Together, they:
• Created a process to identify highly contextualized competencies.
• Developed a capacity building strategy.
