Kidogo partnered with Rippleworks to build a structured onboarding experience to ensure cultural alignment and operational excellence.
In Kenya’s low-income communities, many working mothers are forced to leave young children in unsafe, informal childcare due to lack of affordable options. Kidogo tackles this challenge through a social franchising model that empowers local women—Mamapreneurs—to launch or improve early childhood education micro-businesses. By combining business training, early childhood development support, and ongoing mentorship, Kidogo creates safe, nurturing environments for children while helping women build sustainable livelihoods and elevate the childcare profession in their communities.
One of the Kidogo’s top priorities going into the project was improving their onboarding process to support staff members’ motivation and quality of work.
Kidogo partnered with Kathy Jeffery, a CPO with 15+ years of experience as a senior leader in diverse facets of People Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Organization Development. Together, they:
• Created comprehensive onboarding tools and pilot-tested procedures with new hires
• Mapped an organization-wide implementation plan that standardized the employee integration experience
• Revamped its staff onboarding system by auditing existing processes, identifying improvement areas, and developing competency-based frameworks
