Lwala’s mission is to build the capacity of communities to advance their own comprehensive well-being and change the way healthcare is delivered across Kenya. Lwala is working to make community-led health a government-owned model across Kenya.

The Kenyan government has made tangible commitments towards community health worker (CHW) payment and digitization and is ready to move resources. Lwala has strong impact evidence and operating experience and is actively scaling its work. A large unrestricted grant from Rippleworks will allow Lwala to continue to expand and accompany the Ministry of Health as it takes tangible steps to reform its health system.
