Exploring Earned Income Opportunities
Moving from exploration to informed decisions
Shifts in the funding landscape have increased pressure on senior leaders in social ventures to increase financial sustainability through diversified revenue streams. This session will focus specifically on earned income, where organizations generate revenue through products, services, or contracts. Leaders will review practical frameworks to evaluate potential earned income opportunities, so they can move from a stuck to-do list to an informed decision about what to do next.
Specifically, leaders will:
- Discuss how to assess whether earned income belongs in their funding mix and whether it would accelerate or distract from their mission
- Review frameworks on how to evaluate whether a specific earned income opportunity has enough demand, feasibility, and financial upside to be worth pursuing
- Learn strategies to build a realistic forecast for how earned income accelerates their organization’s financial sustainability, and use it to strengthen their case to funders
- Gain access to a network of leaders across sectors and functional areas from around the world
